Welcome to Final Fantasy Skies!
With all the teasing at Las Vegas, Yoshi-P has finally confirmed that one of the new jobs is Dark Knight, will have no base class (what exactly this will entail for the entire game is yet to be seen), and will be a tank job.
Not only was Dark Knight announced but some more information was announced also:
Unfortunately we will have to wait until the Fan Festival in Tokyo on the 20th December for more information about Heavensward
Yesterday at the Fan Festival in Las Vegas, Square Enix has revealed the first expansion since the relaunch called Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward and is due out Spring 2015.
Since there are two more events to go (London and Tokyo), not much information was revealed but what was confirmed is that there will be:
Until the Fan Festival in London on the 25th October when more will be revealed, have a look at the new trailer below:
Just like the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, Final Fantasy IV is now available for PC on Steam or the SEE Online Store priced at £10.99 / €14.49.
For this release the game features:
Square Enix has confirmed that the Final Fantasy XIII saga will be coming to Windows PC available through Steam and Square Enix Online Store.
First up is Final Fantasy XIII from the 9th October for £10.99/€12.99 with the rest to follow by Spring 2015.
You are required to have a Steam account even if you buy through the Square Enix store though.
Sorry not Type-0 but the mobile phone game Final Fantasy Agito is being ported over to the PlayStation Vita entitled Final Fantasy Agito+.
Launching in Japan on 15th January 2015 as a free-to-download game with micro-transactions, Siliconera reports. A western release has yet to be announced though possible as the original mobile phone game has been announced for the west.
(Caution - Music will not be to everyones taste!)
With the start of another Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix has released a new trailer with some more ingame footage of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One title.
There is still no release date (as was to be expected) but there has been a change of Directors for it with Hajime Tabata (the director of the original Final Fantasy Type-0) taking over from Tetsuya Nomura who has now moved on to Kingdom Hearts III development.
From an accidental leak it seems we have a release date for the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy Type-0 and not just for Japan but for Europe and North America also!
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 20th March in Europe, 19th March in Japan and the 17th March in North America and will include a demo voucher for Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix announced ahead of the Tokyo Game Show in Japan this week.
The demo, dubbed “Episode Duscae,” focuses on the early parts of Final Fantasy XV, with some elements of progression altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience.
There was a video but seems to have been taken down (likely by Square Enix) but will try and post one when available.
UPDATE: It has now been officially confirmed by Square Enix with a fancy new trailer for your viewing pleasure:
Well it has now officially been one year since the succesful relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV
To celebrate, Square Enix is holding a good number of events both within the game and out including the return of the cross over events from Lightning Returns, Final Fantasy XI, and Dragon Quest X as well as Tales from the Calamity offering lore about the events played out during the original release of the game (also referred to as 1.0).
For full details on all the events go ahead and visit the site at http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/anniversary/eu/index.html
With not long to go until the start of another year at Gamescom in Germany, Square Enix has revealed their lineup although it is pretty lacking.
However there are two Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call.
Of course there may (and that is a big may!) be more news at Sony's Press Conference on the 11th August so I will keep you posted with any information released.
During the Letter from the Producer Live today, Yoshida revealed that there will be a new class (Rogue) and a new job (Ninja) to be added in Patch 2.4 with more to be added in the expansion.
Not had enough of mobile games? Well you are in luck as there is another one. This time based on the super fun mini-game from Final Fantasy VII, the motorcycle chase game G-Bike aptly named Final Fantasy VII G-Bike.

With the announcement of Final Fantasy Type-O coming West, Square Enix has announced that the Android/iOS game Final Fantasy Agito will be released in Europe and North America which is free to download but with in-app purchases.

The team behind Final Fantasy XIV has released a battle heavey trailer with a little sneak preview of upcoming Primals Ramuh and Shiva.
Today Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy Type-0 (formally Final Fantasy Agito) will be making its way to European and North American shores but this time for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with an improved HD remaster from the original PlayStation Portable version.
