CHOCOBOS
In Final Fantasy VII you can use Chocobo's to traverse the world, race against others or even make little Chicobos!
The following guide is for Breeding and the Types of Chocobos available.
BREEDING AND TYPES
Chocobo Breeding gives you access to some of the most rarest items available and is also good fun at times. Of course, getting the ultimate Gold Chocobo is a very hard thing indeed if you do not know what you are doing so here is a guide for you to follow and hopefully bring you success.LET US BEGIN
First things first, you need to get yourself a Chocobo and not just any old standard one, you need to be getting hold of at least one Great and one Good male Yellow Chocobo and one Great and one Good female Chocobo (you can also have two Great female chocobos and two Good male chocobos). Where to find these are for good ones is to go to the Gold Saucer area and to capture some there (watch out though, there are average ones there too so only capture the ones with x2 Spencer), and for great ones you need to go off to the Mideel area (there are fair ones here too so only capture the ones with either x2 Valron or x2 Kyuvilduns). When you reach these areas you need to equip Chocobo Lure materia which you should have from back in disc 1, now just run around the claw marks until your in a fight where chocobos are present.Once you finally have the right chocobos, you now need to race each one up to as high as you can get them, the higher the better chance you have of getting the results you want so I recommend getting at least to Class A. Where to race them I hear you cry, well over at the Chocobo Square in the Gold Saucer!
Now with your chocobos at Class A or S, you need to choose what new type of chocobo you want from below and follow what the instructions are there (breed with's are what chocobo you need and breeding item is the item you need to feed them):

* Carob Nut: To get hold of a Carob Nut, you need to Steal from a creature called the Vladorakos which is located south of Bone Village.
** Zeio Nut: You will need to fly over to Goblin Island (most north eastern islands on world map) and Steal from a Goblin.
Remember, once you have breed the Black Chocobo, that will need to grow before it can mate, so take it to the Gold Saucer and race it until it is Class S (must have it at this level to stand a decent chance of getting a Gold Chocobo).
Another good piece of advice is to save before trying to breed each time since you may not get what you want every time!
Good luck!
